"Isn't it beautiful?", she uttered softly, her longing eyes fixated on the view before her. She wrapped herself tighter as the cold wind bit at her exposed skin and the twilight complimented her snow-white skin. She was glowing, yet her eyes told a different story. Inhaling deeply, as if to savour the last bit of the day, she closed her eyes.
She could feel the familiarity of those arms wrapped around her. It was the same one that set off hundreds of butterflies in the pit of her stomach. Forget butterflies, they felt more like elephants going wild in there and her thoughts became unfathomable.
She turned her head slightly to her right, whispering into the ears of the head resting on her shoulder."Isn't it beautiful?", she asked, staring at the view before her in awe. "It most certainly is but," he said, making her turn to face him. With a loving smile dancing on his lips, he continued, "I can't help thinking it's the second most beautiful thing I'm seeing". He stared deeply into her eyes and she was convinced he could see right through her soul. His smile remained as he reached up to peck her forehead. The words "I love you," flowed naturally out of his mouth, filled with sincerity. 'There it is again', she thought as her stomach fluttered and her cheeks reddened.
Upon reopening her eyes, she wiped off the tear that had managed to escape. She stood up and whispered, "I love you too, always have and always will". She smiled, knowing that he'll be able to hear her from the other side and that when the right time comes along, they'll meet again.
Hello y'all! I have not written anything (aside from factual stuff) for the longest time! Felt the urge to do it, so I did and I'm aware that my writing was gotten waaaay rustier. I do aim to get back on track so bear with me? :D Happy reading, I hope!
